A. No, we can not sign your pass­port pho­tos. You need a guar­an­tor to sign your photos.

Q. Do you take pass­port pho­tos for coun­tries other than Canada?

Q. Do you take pho­tos for visa applications?

Q. How do you make sure that the pass­port pho­tos are not rejected by pass­port office?

A. We take pho­tos with SONY UPX-C300 Dig­i­tal Pass­port Photo Print­ing Sys­tem, spe­cially designed sys­tem by Sony to take pass­port photos.

We take care of the fol­low­ing rea­sons nor­mally assigned by pass­port office to reject photos:

1. Glare: Cheeks / fore­head / nose / face

2. Image is under lit / over lit

3. Back­ground shadows

4. Back­ground too dark

5. Reflec­tion on glasses

6. Poor clar­ity / blur

7. No con­trast between shirt & photo back­ground (no shoul­der lines)

8. Image of sub­ject — too small / too big

9. White shirt / head cov­er­ing blends with background

10. Full frontal view not vis­i­ble / ears not showing

11. Date / photographer’s stamp not leg­i­ble due to smear­ing / missing

A. The chances are it will not be rejected. If for some rea­sons your pho­tos get rejected, we will retake them at no charge.

Inter­na­tional Pass­port Pho­tos Sizes and Requirements


Australia


The Basics:

  1. 35-40mm wide and 45-50mm high
  2. Good qual­ity colour on high qual­ity paper, with no ink or marks on the image
  3. Plain, light-coloured back­ground (e.g. cream, pale blue or white)
  4. Appro­pri­ate bright­ness and con­trast and show your skin tones naturally
  5. Uni­form light­ing (no shad­ows across or behind the face), sharp focus and clear.

The pho­to­graph must:

  1. Show head and top of shoul­ders close up, so that the face mea­sures between 32mm and 36mm from the bot­tom of the chin to the crown (ie top of head with­out hair)
  2. Show your shoul­ders square on (not look­ing over shoulder)
  3. Show your face square on (edges of face visible)
  4. Show you look­ing straight at the cam­era (not tilted head)
  5. Be taken with a neu­tral expres­sion and your mouth closed (not laugh­ing or frowning
  6. Show your eyes open and clearly vis­i­ble, (no hair in eyes).

CANADA

The Basics:

  1. The length of the face on the photo from chin to crown of head (nat­ural top of head) must be between31 mm (1 1/4 in.) and 36 mm (1 7/16 in.).
  2. The pho­tos must mea­sure 50 mm X 70 mm in size(2 inches wide X 2 3/4 inches long).
  3. The pho­tos must be a close-up of the head and shoul­ders so that the face cov­ers approx­i­mately 25% of the photo.
  4. The pho­tos must be printed on plain, high qual­ity pho­to­graphic paper. Heavy weight paper is unacceptable.
  5. Either black and white or colour pho­tos are acceptable.

The pho­to­graph must:

  1. The pho­tos pro­vided will be printed in the pass­port. In order for our equip­ment to read the photo cor­rectly, appli­cants are asked not to smile.
  2. Pho­tos must be taken against a plain white or light-coloured back­ground so that the applicant’s fea­tures are clearly dis­tin­guish­able against the back­ground. There should be enough con­trast between the back­ground and the traits or clothing.
  3. Shad­ows are unac­cept­able. Light­ing must be uni­form to avoid shad­ows across the face or shoul­ders, around the ears or in the background.
  4. There must be no reflec­tion or glare on the face or glasses.
  5. Appli­cant must show a neu­tral facial expres­sion (no smil­ing, mouth closed) and look straight at the camera.
  6. Eyes must be open and clearly vis­i­ble. Glasses, includ­ing tinted pre­scrip­tion glasses, are accept­able as long as the eyes are clearly vis­i­ble and there is no glare in the glasses. Sun­glasses and red eyes are unacceptable.
  7. Pho­tos must show a full head with­out any head cov­er­ing, unless it is worn for reli­gious beliefs or med­ical rea­sons. How­ever, both edges of the face must be clearly visible.
  8. Pho­tos must show a full front view of the face and top of the shoul­ders squared to the cam­era (the image of the face and shoul­ders must be cen­tered in the photo).
  9. Pho­tos must be clear, sharp and in focus.
  10. Pho­tos must be orig­i­nals and not taken from an exist­ing photo.

U.S.A

The Basics:

  1. In color
  2. Printed on photo qual­ity paper
  3. 2 x 2 inches (51 x 51 mm) in size
  4. Sized such that the head is between 1 inch and 1 3/8 inches (between 25 and 35 mm) from the bot­tom of the chin to the top of the head. View the Photo Com­po­si­tion Tem­plate for more size require­ment details.
  5. Taken within the last 6 months to reflect your cur­rent appearance
  6. Taken in front of a plain white or off-white background
  7. Taken in full-face view directly fac­ing the camera
  8. With a neu­tral facial expres­sion and both eyes open

The pho­to­graph must not:

  1. Uni­forms should not be worn in your photo, except reli­gious cloth­ing that is worn daily.
  2. Do not wear a hat or head cov­er­ing that obscures the hair or hair­line, unless worn daily for a reli­gious pur­pose. Your full face must be vis­i­ble, and the head cov­er­ing must not cast any shad­ows on your face.
  3. Head­phones, wire­less hands-free devices or sim­i­lar items are not accept­able in your photo.
  4. If you nor­mally wear pre­scrip­tion glasses, a hear­ing device or sim­i­lar arti­cles, they may be worn for your photo.
  5. Dark glasses or non-prescription glasses with tinted lenses are not accept­able unless you need them for med­ical rea­sons (a med­ical cer­tifi­cate may be required)
  6. Glare on glasses is not accept­able in your photo. Glare can be avoided with a slight down­ward tilt of the glasses or by remov­ing the glasses or by turn­ing off the cam­era flash.
