If you live in UAE:
You should apply in person at the police department of the emirate. You will be required to present the following documents:

  • your original passport, as well a copy;
  • a copy of your resident visa;
  • three photographs; and
  • applicable fees.

Non-Resident Requests:
Applicants may send applications by courier with a pre-paid airway bill to the relevant office listed below. You must submit with your application the following:

  • a set of fingerprints certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UAEEmbassy in your country of current residence;
  • a copy of your passport;
  • a copy of your former residence visa; and
  • applicable fees

Basically, one has to complete a fingerprint form, get it notarized and submit it to the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) in Ottawa for authentication at the following address:

Once the fingerprint form  is authenticated, the next step is to submit it to to the UAE Embassy at the following address:

There is fee for this service and the Embassy only accepts payments in the form of money order, certified cheque or draft cheque. Please ensure that the fee is made payable to the United Arab Emirates Embassy, Ottawa. The processing fee depends on the speed of service of choice.

If you live in Greater Toronto Area (GTA), You can get the fingerprint form authenticated by Official Document Services located at 222 Jarvis Street, Toronto, and legalized by the Consulate General of the United Arab Emirates, at the following address:

The next step of to send the following documents to the Police Department at the Ministry of Interior in the appropriate Emirate in the U.A.E.

1) The legalized fingerprint form
2) 2 coloured passport size photograph
3) Passport copy (including residency visa, if possible)
4) Application for Good Conduct Certificate (Outside the United Arab Emirates)
5) A fee of USD $35.00 (in the form of international draft)

The documents can be submitted by a family member or friend in the United Arab Emirates directly to the police department on behalf of the applicant to ensure faster service, or mailed by the applicant to the following address:
